Bringing back The Pagan Book Club!

It goes without saying that we’ve let the Pagan Book Club slip a little… Oh who are we kidding! It’s slipped a lot! But with a bit of determination we (or at least I, Rachel) would like to bring it back and make this an active book club again. “Like” this post if you’re with me - even send in your book nominations if you have some - and we’ll see what we can do!

IT’S TIME TO VOTE!

Just click the play button and the poll should show up. For some reason it wouldn’t show up on a text post. Voting will end on the 3rd of October.

Thankyou :)

I am going to post the poll tonight, in three hours time. If you have any book suggestions, please do send asap.
Send in your book suggestions for October! They can be Samhain themed :)
HELLO EVERYONE!
I’m Rachel, one of your new admins here at The Pagan Book Club.

Hmm… a little about me… let’s see…
I’m 22 years old (I’ll be 23 in December), and currently in my fifth year of college/university in the boring midwest of the United States. To put it simply, I am studying Graphic Communications Management (the print industry), Photography, and Writing.
As far as my pagan path goes, I am very eclectic. A great deal of my path comes from Wicca and witchcraft, but I derive my beliefs and practices from other pagan paths as well. I’m a firm believer that someone’s spiritual path can encompass whatever that person desires and can be molded however they wish, as long as they are respectful regarding other cultures.  There is no right or wrong way to practice your path; it is yours and yours alone, so don’t let anyone tell you that you’re not a witch/Wiccan/pagan, etc. because of it.
I’m fairly new to the pagan world, having only discovered my path within the past two years. But I will do my best to answer questions and give feedback regarding anything asked or posted to The Pagan Book Club. I also feel that being an admin of this “club” will help me to learn more, not only from those of you that are active within the group, but also from reading the books we choose (if I can get my hands on them). This club will aid me in bringing more of “pagan-ness” into my life. Being as busy as I am, I’ll jump at any opportunity to be more witchy :)
You’re are more than welcome to ask me anything about my personal life, or anything regarding paganism, and I will do my best to answer your questions. I look forward to communicating with all of you!

*ecstatic waving*

Hey guys, I’m Ruth and I’m one of the new admins here and I’m very excited.

I also run a personal/fandom blog as well as a Pagan blog. Feel free to check those out… or not.

I’m 20 years old and am in my third year of college in the southeast of the United States - which pretty much means the south. I’m studying Religion and Classics so I know a little bit about a lot of religions and Classical Greco-Roman life. Greek and Roman myths? I got this. I also run the Pagan Student Association on campus. As such I spend at least an hour of my week discussing huge philosophical ideas (or smaller things like Paganism in Popculture if last week turned into a heated debate). I also do a lot of crafts with the group, so I’ll probably be talking about them on my Pagan blog if you’re interested.

I have not found the best way to summarize my Pagan path yet, so bear with me. I generally just stick with the terms “Pagan” and “hedge-witch in training” for a variety of reasons. My background is firmly set within Wicca, because I was raised that way, but recently I’ve found that I don’t always agree with traditional Wiccan views. My path is very fluid right now and one day I’ll be very sure of one understanding and a week later I’ll have had an epiphany that changes everything. I have been very influenced by ideas I’ve found in fictional works to help me understand how the world works (there will be the occasional reference, I’m sure) and why it works that way. I am a firm believer that science can only help me further that understanding and am not afraid to find a scientific explanation.

There is still an opportunity to become part of the team :)
